Fake Result: Police Arrest 3 Man Syndicate In Ebonyi

The Ebonyi State Police Command yesterday arrested a 3 man syndicate that specialises in producing and issuing fake examination results to students of the State university, EBSU Abakaliki.

In a release issued by the command Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Jude Madu and made available to Leadership gave the names of the syndicates as Harrison Ovigwe Igwoku, Okechukwu Ugo Ani and Franklin Okafor.

The PPRO disclosed that the 3 man gang since they started their dastardly act have so far made over N700,000 from the unsuspecting students of Ebonyi State University(EBSU).

DSP Madu  said the syndicate who  impersonate staff of Result Data Base(RDB) of  Ebonyi State Staff University Abakaliki were arrested by the State Intelligence Bureau(SIB) of the police  command in Abakaliki, the State capital.

According to him, “the arrest was necessitated by a written complaint by the Vice Chancellor of the University to the Commissioner of Police that one Ani Okechukwu (a.k.a Chuks) whose name is fake and who claimed to be a staff of Data Base of EBSU has been impersonating and parading himself as a staff of the institution in charge of result”.

Madu stated that the said Okechukwu claim to be in charge of students results
in the university and can upgrade results of those who have problems and facilitate their graduation.

‘’To perpetrate this act, the said fake Ani Okechukwu used First Bank Account Number and GSM number registered with another person’s name.

According to him; Other fake names used by the fraudsters include; Ebube, Theophilus and Peter’’, the PPRO stated.
