Wenger Charged With Misconduct After Arsenal, Burnley Clash

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been charged with misconduct by the English Football Association after appearing to have pushed fourth official Anthony Taylor in the closing stages of his side's 2-1 win over Burnley on Sunday at the Emirates Stadium.

The Frenchman was sent off for comments made towards the referee after he awarded a penalty against in the 92nd minute of the nervy encounter.

According to a statement from the FA, Wenger has until 18:00 GMT (7pm) on Thursday to respond to the charge.

"It is alleged that in or around the 92nd minute, he used abusive and/or insulting words towards the fourth official. 

"It is further alleged that following his dismissal from the technical area, his behaviour in remaining in the tunnel area and making physical contact with the fourth official amounted to improper conduct." a statement from the FA read on Monday.

Alexis Sanchez's 97th minute goal earned Arsenal a 2-1 win over Burnley.
