2017 Budget: Senate Reveals Deadline For Passage
The Senate on Wednesday gave a hint on the time-frame for the passage of 2017 Budget.
Senate spokesman, Senator Abdullahi Sabi, made the disclosure while briefing newsmen after plenary.
He stated that, “the budget would be passed mid-March.”
Sabi assured that the chamber would ensure that it comes up with a document best for all Nigerians.
Sabi added that the Senators were “working day and night to ensure smooth passage of the budget for implementation.”
However, Senate during plenary complained of the failure of Ministers and Chief Executive Officers of Ministries, Departments and Agencies to appear for budget defence.
Senators said the situation may delay the passage and warned that Nigerians should not hold the chamber responsible.
