Fayose’s aide faults EFCC’s N49m Cash Recovery Claim At Kaduna Airport
A close aide to Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, Lere Olayinka, has faulted the recovery of N49 million in cash by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Olayinka said in a brief post on his social media accounts, on Wednesday, that there were holes in the report of the EFCC on how it came by huge amount of cash left lying inside the Kaduna Airport on Tuesday, March 14.
According to him, it was hard to believe that somebody would withdraw such huge amount of money in these trying times and leave it lying around to be impounded by the anti-corruption agencies.
It is, however, not clear if Olayinka was claiming that the anti-corruption agency set it up or that no such recovery was made.
Recall that the EFCC announced that it intercepted bags containing N49 million cash at Kaduna Airport.
