Man Causes Stir, Disrupts Obiano’s Speech At Media Summit
A self-styled activist and literary crusader, identified as Arize
Ifewulu, caused a stir, on Wednesday, during the Media Summit organised
by the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council, when
he breached protocol and disrupted Governor Willie Obiano’s speech.
The man, who suddenly appeared on the stage facing the governor, carried a placard with the inscription: “For quality books, Your Excellency, please judge my manuscript, Don’t allow talent to lie waste please!…..
He was pacing up & down when the governor ordered him to stop.
When the governor caught a glimpse of what was written in the placard, he commended the library idea but wondered why the man chose NUJ forum for the campaign.
Later when interviewed, the man who claimed he hailed from Agulu community in Anambra State said that it was out of frustration that he decided to confront the Governor in that manner.
With a rope stuffed in his pocket, Arinze said that he wanted also to let the world know that he would commit suicide if his manuscript failed quality test by a panel of judges to be set up by the Governor.
He said he needed sponsorship for the manuscript to be published.
