President on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, the President is
expected to arrive the country on Saturday and later address the nation
in a national broadcast by 7: am on Monday.
"President Buhari is expected to speak to Nigerians in a broadcast by 7 a.m on Monday, August 21, 2017. He thanks, all Nigerians who have prayed ceaselessly for his recovery and well-being since the beginning of the health challenge," the statement reads.
The President left the country on May 7, after handing over power to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who has functioned as Acting President in his absence. The protest culminated in a night vigil in London that lasted till this morning.
SaharaReporters could not independently confirm if President has departed London as his official jet remains parked at Stansted Airport in London, but our sources said President Buhari's plan to return to Nigeria this weekend led to the cancellation of his wife's trip to Saudi Arabia for hajj which had been planned for Friday.
