Senator Melaye Officially Declares For Kogi Governorship Seat in Fresh Video
The senator representing Kogi west
district at the National Assembly, Dino Melaye, has officially declared for the
forthcoming governorship election in Kogi state.
In a video addressing the people of
the state, Melaye expressed readiness to take the residents out of poverty.
"I stand before you not to
declare my ambition to be governor of Kogi state, but the ambition of the
people of Kogi state.
But if I do so, I would simply
negate everything you have known me for," he said in the video.
He, however, said he cannot look
away when poverty continues to ravage the state as if it does not have the
resources for development.
He complained about insecurity,
violence and intimidation saying they have become the order of the day in the
state.
"If I look away, then I am not
the Dino you've come to know," he added. Legit.ng earlier reported that
Senator Dino Melaye said that he will be elected the Kogi state governor in the
forthcoming gubernatorial poll scheduled for November 2019.
Melaye, representing Kogi west in
the Senate had recently declared his ambition to vie for the governorship seat
of Kogi under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The lawmaker has intensified
campaign with lots of posters and jingles on display on Twitter and Instagram,
as well as showcased his achievements in the state.
