Fury, Fans Mock AJ

Tyson Fury has broken his social media blackout to taunt Anthony Joshua after his loss to Oleksandr Usyk.

Joshua was outpointed by Usyk last night in London, with all three judges awarding the fight to the Ukrainian by scores of 117-112, 116-112 and 115-113.

Usyk became a two-division champion with the win, claiming Joshua’s titles in just his third heavyweight fight after moving up from cruiserweight in 2019.

The loss dented Joshua’s hopes of a fight against domestic rival Fury, with the pair’s scheduled August fight being cancelled after an arbitration judge ruled in favour of Deontay Wilder’s trilogy against Fury.

And Fury – who fights Wilder on October 9 – retweeted a picture from his management company MTK Global that mocked Joshua after his loss. The tweet accompanied picture of Fury with his belts and read: “And still the best heavyweight on the planet.”

Fury predicted Joshua would walk “straight through” Usyk before the fight, stating the Ukrainian didn’t have the power to knock out cruiserweights let alone heavyweights.

Meanwhile, boxing fans have brutally mocked Joshua after his convincing defeat against Oleksandr Usyk.

The Brit was rolled over as Usyk triumphed via a unanimous points decision on Saturday night at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

And social media users quickly referenced Spurs’ struggles after Joshua’s loss, suggesting he will have to fight heavyweight rival Tyson Fury’s half-brother Tommy instead of getting a crack at Tyson’s WBC belt.

One said: “If you have a dream don’t come to Tottenham’, with a second adding: ‘Anthony Joshua really chose to fight at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and bottled it”.

Another continued on the same theme: ‘AJ losing his belts at White Hart Lane? It’s in di history of di Tottenham’.
