Brighton’s Yves Bissouma Arrested Over Alleged Sexual Assault
Police in Sussex, England have arrested Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma on suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman at a nightclub.
The Mali international, who has been linked with several Premier League giants like Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal, was out partying with a friend in the early hours of Wednesday when the police were called. He was later escorted out of the nightclub in handcuffs.
Bissouma was expected to fly Mali’s colours in their FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualifiers where they will face Kenya in Group E, however, he pulled out of the selection due to injury.
The 25-year-old has been a revelation in the Premier League this season with speculations of a move in the January transfer window.
He becomes the third Premier League player to be arrested based on allegations of sexual assault after Everton’s Gylfi Sigurdsson and Manchester City’s Benjamin Mendy.
