Super Eagles: Adepoju Reacts To Sacking Of Rohr, Appointment Of Eguavoen
Ex-national team star, Mutiu Adepoju has said that the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, may have timed the sacking of Super Eagles Coach, Genort Rohr wrongly.
He said this is majorly because the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) begins in a few weeks.
The NFF announced the sack of Rohr over the weekend and Adepoju told NAN on Monday that the sacking of the Franco-German coach had been expected long before now.
Following Rohr’s sacking, the NFF appointed former Eagles Captain, Augustine Eguavoen, on interim basis pending the appointment of a permanent boss.
This decision is something that has been expected. Fans are not satisfied with what the results of the team despite the fact that we have good and young players,” the former Super Eagles star said.
I am not also sure if the timing is good, but we will see with the result of the AFCON.
“Eguavoen is the Technical Director of the NFF, so, he is an insider and had been with the team long before now.
“He has the experience and I’m sure he knows how to utilize the talents in the team for a great result.”
