Funke Akindele Battles Nse Nkpe, Nancy Isime, 3 Others for Best Actress

Funke Akindele-Bello has been thrown into stiff competition for the Best Actress in a Comedy category ahead of the eighth edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards scheduled for Saturday, May 14, 2022.

 

The ‘Jenifa’s Diary’ star has been announced as one of the six nominees vying for public votes to emerge Best Actress in a comedy (movie/TV series) category.

 

Akindele-Bello, whose role in blockbuster Omo Ghetto (The Saga) earned her the nomination is slugging it out with Bimbo Ademoye for her role in ‘Breaded Life,’ Nse Nkpe Etim for her role in ‘Quams Money,’ Bisola Aiyeola for her role in ‘Dwindle,’ Nancy Isime for her role in ‘Kambili – The Whole 30 Yards,’ and Sarah Hassan for her role in ‘Just In Time.’

 

Although Akindele-Bello was also nominated in 10 other categories, the award for the Best Actress in a comedy remains one of the keenly contested.
