Oyibo Rebel: Naija Babes Have a Place in my Heart

Lagos-bred European and musician, Faris Boulos aka Oyibo rebel has affirmed his love for Nigerian women even though he’s married to Alisa Boulos.

 

Oyibo rebel, a professional actor revealed this to The Nation in a recent chat.

When asked his thoughts on Nigerian ladies, he said, “Mehn I’m married to an Oyinbo babe but my naija babes got a place in my heart.”

 

Boulos also shared reasons he chose the moniker ‘Oyinbo Rebel’ saying, “When I was a y

oung boy around 14-years-old, I used to go to the Afrika Shrine to watch Uncle Femi perform so when the crowd sees me they kept saying this one na Oyinbo rebel, no be normal Oyinbo, that’s a rugged guy.”

 

Oyibo rebel, who speaks Yoruba and Pidgin English fluently in his music, has several songs to his credit including his debut hit single titled ‘Oju Mi Bloody’ featuring Chinko Ekun and Mz Kiss.

 

Speaking on his acceptance in the music industry, he said “they love me, they know say I dey represent as an Oyinbo 9ja guy so everybody just keeps helping me push my music till I secure a major hit which will transcend into something big but we’ve marked everyone “Happy birthday Nigeria’, ‘Oju mi Bloody’ plenty tracks are on the way”

 

The rapper and songwriter moved to Nigeria when he was five-years-old and has lived in Nigeria for over 27 years.
