‘Tinubu’s financial support will boost Super Eagles’ march to glory’

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s decision to ‘massively’ fund Super Eagles’ campaign at the Cote d’Ivoire 2024 Africa Cup of Nations is the right elixir the team needs to win the championship, Chief Executive Officer of Monimichelle Group, Ebi Egbe, has said.

Egbe, whose company is known for building and maintaining sports facilities, commended President Tinubu and the Minister of Sports, John Enoh, for the timely release of money to the Super Eagles ahead of the Nations Cup slated to kick off from Saturday.

The president on Monday announced the release of N12 billion to the NFF to enable it to clear all outstanding debts owed the team as well as cover expenses for the prosecution of this year’s AFCON finals.

Egbe in statement yesterday described the gesture as evidence of the president’s love for sports and youth development.

“I’m highly excited by the announcement of the release of funds by the Presidency to clear all outstanding allowances of the Super Eagles as well as take care of their participation in the AFCON finals, which kicks off this weekend in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.”

“This kind and humane gesture by the President shows that he’s a football lover and has the interest of the development of the youths at heart and I want to say a very big thank you to the president and the minister of sports.

Egbe also charged the Super Eagles to put in their best and ensure they lift the trophy for the fourth time.

“It’s important that I charge the Super Eagles to put in their best in Cote d’Ivoire especially now that there will not be any form of distraction because of non-availability of funds.

“The Super Eagles should realise that all Nigerians are behind them to lift the trophy a record fourth time and the president’s gesture of releasing such a huge amount of money in this time of economic meltdown should be enough inspiration for them to deliver and present the trophy to the president as a sign of appreciation for his kind gesture,” he concluded.
