PRP condemns use of live ammunition on hunger protesters, urges for probe

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has condemned the use of live ammunition on hunger protesters by security forces, demanding a probe and accountability from the Federal Government.
This demand was made by Falalu Bello, the party’s National Chairman, who also condemned the call for a military takeover, advocating instead for a change in government through the ballot box.
He criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent address to the nation, stating that it failed to acknowledge the economic hardship faced by Nigerians and the myriad of problems plaguing the country.
The party noted that the president’s claims of increased revenue were due to the devaluation of the naira, not economic growth.
The PRP urged the government to address the concerns of protesters, including reducing the cost of governance, prosecuting corruption cases, and addressing insecurity.
He said, “The PRP is against the call for a military takeover and instead advocates for a change of government through the ballot box.
“We equally demand a full investigation into the use of live ammunition on hunger protesters by security forces and accountability from the Federal Government.
“The President’s claim of increased revenue is due to the devaluation of the Naira and not economic growth.”
Bello emphasized that the party has solutions to Nigeria’s problems, including the high cost of governance, wasteful expenditures, insecurity, and corruption.
