Wednesday, 11th December,2024 was not a usual busy afternoon for the market men,  women,  and commuters as well as passers -by who were all victims of tear-gassing by the Nigerian law enforcement agency trying to arrest and impound motorbike riders popularly known as ‘Okada’ riders plying AIT Road, Kola, Alagbado, a suburb of Lagos State.

The police were shooting the said canisters to disperse the riders who were resisting arrest of both riders and motorbikes that were about to be impounded and these escalated to a more shooting spree of canisters that was causing serious health issues for people.

Some casualties were reported who were majorly children and old women as they were being given first aid by the good samaritans around.
